Virtual Playgroup – Thursday 28th January: How do you milk an oat?!

We’re all missing our normal groups and activities at the moment! One of the things I miss most is catching up with other parents – and Kids Kitchen Virtual Playgroup is as much for the grown-ups as it is the kids!

  • 45 minute session of fun for the kids with a simple food based sensory play activity
  • We can chat over a hot cuppa- about food, recipes or anything else that takes our fancy – just like a normal playgroup!
  • There’s a full-blown recipe that will see you through to lunch if you’re feeling adventurous (no pressure!)

Our session leaders will be there to facilitate the activity and discussion and to answer your questions and share some tips and ideas.

So, how DO you milk an oat?! Join us this week and you will find out how to make your own oat milk!

This is a lovely sensory play activity that even the youngest of toddlers will love! All you need is some porridge oats, a big bowl, some water and an old (clean!) sock, pair of tights or muslin. The kids can squeeeeze, squidge and squash the oats in the water to their hearts content whilst we chat! We will also be talking you through how to use the oat milk they have just made to cook up some delicious savoury pancakes! Just add some flour and some grated or mashed veg (we like carrot or sweet potato!) and lunch is ready! What’s not to love?!
