We’re all missing our normal groups and activities at the moment! One of the things I miss most is catching up with other parents – and Kids Kitchen Virtual Playgroup is as much for the grown-ups as it is the kids!
- 45 minute session of fun for the kids with a simple food based sensory play activity
- We can chat over a hot cuppa- about food, recipes or anything else that takes our fancy – just like a normal playgroup!
- There’s a full-blown recipe that will see you through to lunch if you’re feeling adventurous (no pressure!)
Our session leaders will be there to facilitate the activity and discussion and to answer your questions and share some tips and ideas.
This week’s activity is simply just indulging their urge to pour, scoop, fill and pour some more!
Grab a few bowls of varying sizes, some spoons or scoops and cups, then add some dried rice, cous cous or any type of grain you fancy and let them do their stuff! This is a brilliant activity for them to practice both their gross and fine motor skills as well as their coordination; plus it’s great fun! If you are really feeling adventurous, you could mix it with a bit of natural food colouring, or give them a mix of different things to play with… why not add in some toy diggers too if you think that will appeal!
Whilst they are busy, we can chat about anything, or prep some veg to go with whatever you plan to make for lunch. You could keep it simple with the cous cous volcanoes recipe here.
