Calling all childcare providers and nursery workers… we need your help! Do you have cooking skills in your setting?
Hands-on food activities are proven to help children to develop adventurous and varied tastes, and make better food choices as they grow up, helping to combat childhood obesity.
But we’re hearing that some early years providers are finding skills gaps with staff – in basic cooking from scratch, and setting up and running food activities.
Kids Kitchen is a social enterprise running inclusive food activities for families. We also help children’s centres, childcare providers and nurseries run cooking sessions in their settings. We focus on vegetable-based recipes in order to maximise value, increase exposure to healthy options, and make activities accessible for those with common allergies.
We’d like to find out more about what nursery workers and childcare providers need in order to help them confidently run hands-on food activities in their settings.
As a thank you for completing our short survey, we’ll send you a free recipe activity for you to try with the kids!
