One of the areas of London with the highest concentration of KK sessions is the south east, precisely where Lewisham and Bromley boroughs meet, around Bellingham,
Downham and Anerly. Here we currently run three sessions each month, mostly free for local residents and using locally sourced products.
There’s abundance of green areas around here and thankfully that also means a wealth of opportunities to buy/source fresh ingredients directly from producers and like-minded organizations. It’s great to hook up with and support other people and projects whose values we share – such as sustainability, healthy lifestyle and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
Indeed, we are proud to have established a collaboration with Sydenham Garden, a beautiful community project that values the therapeutic qualities of sowing and growing. So during last year we enjoyed some of their fresh produce with our children and parents/cares at our sessions. Just imagine the journey of joy and positive change that those vegetables went true, from seed to table!
We are looking forward to get more connections with local producers, distributers and markets and continue to promote the healthy and sustainable lifestyle that also our sessions, we hope, inspire in children and their parents.
