This is what you will need for each recipe:
Saturday 6th February – Beany Burritos

This is a great option for a quick and easy dinner, and you can adapt the filling depending on what you have to hand.
Ingredients:
Tortilla wraps
Tinned beans (black beans, butter beans, cannellini beans, or similar)
Tomatoes
Carrots
Spring onion
Fresh coriander or parsley
Spices (eg. paprika & cumin)
Feel free to add other ingredients too!
Utensils:
Chopping board
Knife (child safe – table knives are fine!) Grater
Large bowl
Masher
Saturday 13th February – Cous Cous Volcanoes

This is ALWAYS a popular one with younger kids! But it is actually a really healthy and tasty meal on its own, or as a side to something else.
Ingredients:
Cous cous
Chickpeas
Assorted veg: eg carrots, courgette, sweetcorn, peppers, spring onion etc
Tomato passata
Garlic
Basil / oregano (fresh or dried)
Seasoning eg paprika
Utensils:
Chopping board
Knife (child safe – table knives are fine!)
Grater
Scissors (child safe!)
Large bowl
Jam jar or pot with lid
Saturday 20th February – Mini Tarts

These delicious little tarts can be pretty much anything you want them to be! Once you have mastered the pastry (and it really is simple – promise!) you can have fun adding anything you like to them – sweet or savoury!
Ingredients:
For the Pastry-
Plain flour
Water
Oil (olive / vegetable etc)
Filling:
We will be doing roasted veg – sweet potato, onion, carrot, peppers, tomato, garlic, basil
but you could try a pizza style filling with vegetables and tomato passata, or keep it simple with some fruit and cinnamon.
Utensils
Big bowls
Knife (child safe – table knives are fine!)
Chopping board
Roasting tray
Rolling pin
Muffin / tart tin
Pastry brush
Round pastry cutter (you can also use a cup / small bowl)
As with all our sessions, we encourage you to adapt the recipes depending on what you have in the cupboard and are always happy to discuss options during the session. Getting the kids involved is always our aim but please don’t worry if they aren’t in the mood to cooperate – we’ve all been there and our sessions are always fun, friendly and absolutely no pressure! You don’t even need to have your camera on if you don’t want to!
