There's something about the weekend that makes us want to add lots of extra letters and exclamation marks 😆
Another Saturday Family Session coming up at the end of November and as the title suggested we are making veggie sausages.
We'll talk you through how to make them and then you can decide what to do with them next:
Are your kids little master chefs? Make some toad in the hole (Aneta's recipe in our friendly foodie network). Want a quick snack? Pop them in between two slices of lovely toasted bread with oodles of ketchup.
Or if you've got a tiddler, let them play with the mixture as if it were play dough and have last night's left-over pasta instead. As long as we are having fun anything goes (and we'll talk you through recipe ideas on the day).
Aneta who knows more about plant-based recipes than anyone I know will guide you through it all.
We will ask for a £5 donation - but you can give what you like.
What you might find useful:
1 can of beans (any you have kicking about)
2 peppers (other veg would work too, we can chat about that on the day)
1 red onion chopped finely (or spring onions or leek)
1 tsp Thyme, 1tsp marjoram (or other herbs you have handy, fresh or dried)
2 tbsp marmite (depending on how you feel about it... )
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 cup porridge oats (the finer ones or pop the jumbo ones in a food processor)
A short note about ingredients: we try to use local and seasonal produce and tweak recipes accordingly. Tweaking is also necessary at the moment now that we can only leave home for essentials. For this reason we've given you loads of options, please don't be daunted by them! We will also help with substitutions on the day so don't worry if you are missing some bits.
