Kids Kitchen Online: 4th of August Veg Fritters

"We so enjoyed this session, and to be honest I just couldn't picture how the magic of Kids Kitchen could happen over zoom, without us all being in the same room, but the magic was there. It really was a joy to be cooking together in different places, loved hearing and seeing people's different ideas."
What a lovely piece of feedback from out Garden Party session 😍 Every week we are given confirmation that we have succeeded in making our online sessions engaging and in keeping the magic alive. We are chuffed! As we try and plan how to get back out in the community (which has been challenging), it's great to know that our online delivery has been so well received and has kept so many families connected.
Next Tuesday - Our regular online session leader Alice will be joined by Kelda (experienced session leader doing her first online one) will be making vegetable fritters. We will be accompanying them with a salad Book here!
Vegetables to grate (courgettes are ideal - we need their moisture for the batter - but you could use other veg you have handy, we'll talk through what you have on the day)
Cumin (or other spices)
Thyme (or oregano or other herbs)
Flour (gram flour is great as it provides extra protein but plain flour is also good, any flour you have would work - nutty buckwheat flour yum!-)
Salad bits (tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, beetroot, whatever you like)
Lemon juice or vinegar
A short note about ingredients: we try to use local and seasonal produce and tweak recipes accordingly. Tweaking is also necessary at the moment now that we can only leave home for essentials. For this reason we've given you loads of options, please don't be daunted by them! We will also help with substitutions on the day.
