Kids Kitchen Online: 26th of May Cauliflower Curry
Updated: May 25
"My son would not eat shop bought Gnocchi, but he ate the one he made today! He would not eat spinach either but putting chopped spinach into the Gnocchi mixture didn't bother him, he ate it!"
You'll be surprised how much more willing your children will be to try things if they had a hand in making them. Their confidence and adventurousness will grow and so will yours. And if not that's ok too, seeds of change may have been sown... Join us, with no pressure and a lot of support. Making lunch together, getting messy and having fun. Next Tuesday - Aneta who coordinates our hub in South East London will make a flavourful and delicious curry, with the help of Alice from our East London hub. Book here (Bookings will close at 10.15am Tuesday, and after that you'll receive an email with a 'zoom' link to join. Room opens 10.45am, session starts 11am) You don’t need anything special to take part. You don’t even need to be in the kitchen! Find a space on a table, in a corner, on a picnic blanket... What you might find useful:
Onion (spring onion or leek would work too)
Indian spices (whatever you have: garam masala, curry leaves, cumin, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, paprika, turmeric)
Chickpeas and or lentils
Any vegetables you have handy peppers any colour, potatoes, parsnip, carrot,
Green peas (frozen or fresh - kids love to get them out of their pods...)
Spinach, coriander or parsley
Can of coconut milk
Can of chopped tomatoes (or tomatoes paste or fresh tom)
Lime or lemon
A short note about ingredients: we try to use local and seasonal produce and tweak recipes accordingly. Tweaking is also necessary at the moment now that we can only leave home for essentials. For this reason we've given you loads of options, please don't be daunted by them! We will also help with substitutions on the day.
We want nothing more than to continue running cooking sessions for the whole family, but we need your support. If you can, please consider contributing to our Crowdfunder. Any amount makes a difference and is so appreciated!
