Kids Kitchen Online: 21st of July Bread Sculptures in collaboration with Garden Party in the Air
Updated: Jul 16, 2020

Next week's session will be a little bit special. Before the world changed we were talking to the Waltham Forest Garden Party organisers to try and get a Kids Kitchen session there, we were very excited about it.
Amazingly the team behind the Garden Party has decided to move the party online and has organised some fantastic events and initiatives (check it out on here: https://walthamstowgarden.party/).
We are so delighted to be part of this fantastic virtual event bringing the Waltham Forest community together. So this week's recipe is extra creative!
We'll be making Bread Sculptures inspired by the book Grandad's Island. We'll accompany that with a tomato salad. Lunch is served!
Next Tuesday - Join us for a special Garden Party in the Air Kids Kitchen session. Book here! (Bookings will close at 10.15am Tuesday, and after that you'll receive an email with a 'zoom' link to join. Room opens 10.45am, session starts 11am) What you might find useful:
Chopping Board
Knife/Scissors
Bowl
Fork, spoon or other things you can think of that might make nice patterns on the bread
And ingredients...
For the Bread:
Water
Flour
Yeast
Salt
Sugar
Oil
Herbs, spices or seeds (optional)
For the tomato salad:
Tomatoes
Spring onions
Basil or Oregano
A short note about ingredients: we try to use local and seasonal produce and tweak recipes accordingly. Tweaking is also necessary at the moment now that we can only leave home for essentials. For this reason we've given you loads of options, please don't be daunted by them! We will also help with substitutions on the day.
Our Crowdfunder is finished and we raised just under £2,500! Thank you all so so much for your support. If you missed the cut off and would like to support our work, you can do so via the link below! 😍😃💕
