"Kids Kitchen is a great incentive to not only engage with your children also teach them essential skills for life. The recipes and instructions are easy to follow and the families I work with had so my fun during our online workshop.” Yvonne, Phoenix Housing
While Early Years providers are able to remain open through lockdown, many Baby and toddler groups, pre-school activities in community centres, and Childrens Centres are greatly reduced.
Any family can connect with our online Kids Kitchen activities but we've also been working alongside specific nurseries, childrens' centres and community organisations to support parents and under-5s.
South East London: an online community festival involving 80 families for resident-led Phoenix Housing Association
Herefordshire: Recipes and advice for specific ingredients, plus ingredient bags for families - with Leominster Food Bank
East London: A vibrant session for Black History Month with Walthamstow Toy Library and an outdoor autumnal family session on Aldriche Way Estate.
Working with Frontline Services
We know that organisations are stretched right now. We have been connecting and building the confidence of families with fun, innovative activities for nearly ten years and have the resources to connect with your families. Our work with partners has always seen us building together - we have years of experience of using food to bring connection, and this complements the skills and contacts of other organisations.
Referrals to us can receive a package that includes:
Support to access our online interactive sessions and videos. This could include a phone call to explain the process and get signed up, or whatsapping a video with a follow up message.
Any of our resources free or subsidised - including recipe packs and essentials kits
Signposting and support from our skilled session leaders.
Adults and children who spend time with Kids Kitchen grow in confidence and skills and reporting that they are eating better, cooking more from scratch and more connected to their children.
If you're working with vulnerable or isolated young families right now:
