Kids Kitchen Online: Nigerian roasted carrots with white bean mash 29th of September

“Kids kitchen sessions helped my five year old (and me) so much during lockdown, thank you. It gave us something to look forward to each week when everything felt pretty desperate.”

This is why we do what we do. To be a little bit of support, a little bit of light when things feel a little dark, a little hard (or a lot). That’s why we are always welcoming, always relaxed, open, no pressure.

So this week we’ll be taking inspiration from our wonderful Kemi’s Nigerian heritage with this tasty recipe. She will be joined by Aneta also from South East London.

Book here!

(Bookings will close at 10.15am Tuesday, and after that you’ll receive an email with a ‘zoom’ link to join. Room opens 10.45am, session starts 11am)What you might find useful:

Chopping Board

Rosting tin

Potato musher

Small jar with a tight lid

And ingredients…

Maple Syrup (or honey)

Olive Oil (or other oil)

Harissa Paste (or a little paprika and garlic will work)

Onion (or spring onion or even leek)

A short note about ingredients: we try to use local and seasonal produce and tweak recipes accordingly. Tweaking is also something we got used to when we were only leave home for essentials and we have fully embraced it, it helps with avoiding food waste which is great. For this reason we’ve given you loads of options, please don’t be daunted by them! We will also help with substitutions on the day.

Our Crowdfunder is finished and we raised just under £2,500! Thank you all so so much for your support. If you missed the cut off and would like to support our work, you can do so via the link below! ????????????
