We’re all missing our normal groups and activities at the moment! One of the things I miss most is catching up with other parents so next week we’re starting a new session format – a Kids Kitchen virtual playgroup! Many of you with young kids were keen for a shorter session with a bit of a chat so here we have it:
Half hour sessions of fun for the kids whilst they engage with a simple food based sensory play activity and we can chat over a hot cuppa- about food, recipes or anything else that takes our fancy – just like a normal playgroup!
Our first session in this new format is on Tuesday 17th November at 11am.
Two of our session leaders will be there to facilitate the activity and discussion and to answer your questions and share some tips and ideas.
Next week, we will make some simple pastry and whilst the kids are mixing, kneading and playing with the dough, we’ll put the kettle on and enjoy a bit of grown up conversation!
What you’ll need:
Some plain flour, olive oil and water. That’s it! Plus a big bowl to mix it in and maybe a rolling pin and anything else you think the kids might enjoy playing with!
We will chat about how you can turn the dough into lunch if you want – some mini tarts (more info on making those here) or pesto twists but no pressure, it also works simply as a cheap, fun and eco-friendly play idea so even if you just bin the pastry and make sandwiches after, as long as you’ve had fun, it’s still a win!
Tell us in Facebook or Messenger if you want to come, or email Kate and she’ll send you the link. Simple 🙂
If you have any questions about the session feel free to get in touch. We can’t wait to see you!
