Kids Activities in Early Years and Nurseries

Family Sessions online for your residents association, childrens centre or community group in lockdown - check our previous online cooks for inspiraton and get in touch to see if we can help keep your families connected.

"I do love the smell of fresh chopped vegetables and herbs, it makes our icky sticky Playbus session seem so much more refreshing when we've got Kids Kitchen onboard!"

Claire Lindsay, Hackney Playbus

Kids Kitchen grew from what parents needed for themselves and their children so we understand what parents and carers are looking for in a welcoming, informative family activity.

A session typically looks like:

An introduction to the food we're going to cook.
Two sets of coordinated food preparation with a break for snacks.
Time for wash and tidy up with a story or free play.
Time to get to know each other while we eat our delicious food together.

How could it work in your Space?

From-scratch savoury snacks as part of a Children's Centre 'messy play'
A weekly block of family cooking activities in a nursery
Pop-Ups on Fun Days - in Parks and other outdoor location
Interactive kids activity as part of a Big Lunch

"A parent of 3 year old twins spoke to me and said that she loved the sessions; and that she travels quite a way to attend as its worth it.  Families, in particular those that are first time parents get to experience cooking with their child in a safe and welcoming environment and also get the confidence to continue the activity at home. Its an introduction to healthy cooking and eating which considering we have high obesity amongst children in this borough is very much needed... ace!"

Sade Alade, Early Help Area Manager Waltham Forest

We cook from scratch, inclusively using a proven model that benefits the health and wellbeing of both adults and children, builds community and has a positive impact on the environment.  We've been supporting family cooking to happen in a range of locations since 2011. A session can be many different things - sometimes we pop-up festival style! but it's always fun, from scratch and plant-based. Find out more here.

We have session leaders in our three hub areas of
East London, South East London and Herefordshire

We may be able to help in other locations too.

Price will depend on location, number of sessions, number of children / adults and activity requirements - this form will help you see the sort of questions we'll ask.

Staff Training in Food Activities

We also deliver training in Cooking from Scratch with Young Childrenaccessible from anywhere and CPD accredited.

Please get in touch and let us know what would work for you.
