Hello and welcome to the Sticky Mitts Kids Kitchen, a network created specially for schools who are excited about food and cooking. Through joining the Kids Kitchen, children will learn practical cooking skills, and expand and test their knowledge about all kinds of food - what it tastes like, how it grows, how it gets to the shops, how simple ingredients turn into tasty meals.
The starter recipes and activities have been put together by our head chef Rob Rees, with a team of teachers to provide a practical off the shelf solution for schools who can cook and want to cook but just need the right resources!
Each month the Kids Kitchen team will keep member schools posted about interesting events and news, with sign posts to particularly good web sites and will be asking schools for their views on hot food topics!
The Kids Kitchen network is open to individual schools to join, or to groups of schools through Local Authorities, or clusters. Each school has their own Kids Kitchen web site, where they can post recipes, talk to other schools in the network, get online guidance from head chef Rob and the Sticky Mitts team and much more. We look forward to our first regional Kids Kitchen Chef contest!!
